ZALAEGERSZEG LOGISTICS CENTRE AND CONTAINER TERMINAL

Zalaegerszeg’s Integrated Territorial Programme entitled “Developments in Zalaegerszeg Economic Zones” was named in 6.1. His ideas for the tender with code number 6.1.1-16 planned in the economic development measure. The main objective of the project is to develop an industrial area of about 15.7 ha — the Logistics Centre in Zalaegerszeg and the container terminal — and to provide utilities of the industrial area up to the land boundary. The project is Zalaegerszeg 0849/13; 0849/14; 0849/15; 0849/16; 0849/3; 0849/4; 0849/5; 0849/6; 0849/7;0849/8; 0849/9; 0849/10; 0849/11; 0849/12; 0850; 0851/2; 0851/3; 0851/4; 0851/5; 0851/6; 0851/7; 0851/8; 0851/9; It will be implemented on properties of 0851/10. Due to the geographical location of our country, it has significant logistical potential in Europe. This is supported by both east-west and north-south logistics flows and the logistic centres along them. The process of attracting routes of major logistical importance in the region is clearly visible; a number of significant logistical investments have been and are ongoing in the neighbouring countries. Hungary’s positions are not bad in this respect, since the development of both the road network and the railway lines has been largely achieved, but only some smaller sections and strategic nodes remain. One such is the Zalaegerszeg-Zalaszentivan junction, which is the major logistical intersection of the region, both in railways and on the road. The project concerns the development of the first significant logistical hub after the port on the railway corridor in Koper (Mediterrán TEN-T 6), which, in addition to intra-country traffic, can also represent a significant potential for European North-South freight traffic through the north-south rail crossing of Zalaszentiván. The development can be developed into a complete logistics centre in connection with the development of the M9 and R76 and 8 roads. These road developments further strengthen the international competitiveness of the logistics centre in the railway node. Given the strong logistics infrastructure close to our borders, it is essential for Hungary to establish its own, serious logistics centre in the region to become a major logistics player in the international logistics network. The objective is to create a state-owned basic infrastructure by implementing this terminal, given its strategic nature, with a competitive operating model. The planned development referred to in point 3.1.1(B)(a) of the call for proposals: "Establishing, refurbishing, upgrading, upgrading, upgrading and upgrading of the basic infrastructure of industrial areas (gas, water, sewerage, road, industrial track, parking lot, electrical wiring system, energy network, telecommunications and communication network, waste management facilities) of the industrial areas (gas, water, sewerage, road, industrial tracks, parking lot, electrical wiring system, energy network, telecommunications and communication network, waste treatment facilities) as well as the construction of a road surface or investment in basic infrastructure outside the boundary of the call in accordance with point 3.4 of the call, and 3.1.1(B)(d) "renovation, development, reconstruction or reinforcement of roads or junctions that create or strengthen the accessibility of industrial areas, which may also be linked to the refurbishment, reinforcement and construction of common nodes and road connections with public roads" is an autonomously eligible activity. In the framework of point 3.1.1(B)(a), we plan to develop infrastructure outside the boundary to ensure the provision of basic infrastructure at the Logistics Centre and container terminal: gas, current connection, drinking water, sewage, rainwater drainage. The planned development serves the development of basic infrastructure within the boundary and is directly linked to the Logistics Centre. In the framework of point 3.1.1.B.d.), we are planning a road construction to create the accessibility of the Logistics Centre. In the grant application, only a project idea is outlined and presented, the technical and professional content is developed during the project development period. The developments planned under the Urban TOP 6.1.1-16 programme indirectly strengthen the competitiveness background of development. These benefits will enable the development of a rail and trimodal logistics centre in Zalaegerszeg-Zalaszentiván, which is unique on the international scene and is highly competitive in Europe; closely linked to the economic development programme launched in 2005 on a local initiative in the city. The project also fits into the system of Slovenian-Hungarian economic cooperation, especially with regard to the possibilities offered by the port of Koper. Businesses using business infrastructure increase their competitiveness through higher quality and wider services.
