Sió Water Tourism Development I.Tourse

The aim of the project: Sión will establish a unique water route in the region where both the characteristics of the route (non-waving, drifting, non-deep) and the connection of existing attractions (Ozorai, Simontornyai castle, Sióagárd cellar village, Gemenci forest, etc.) The whole section, the connection of Lake Balaton — Danube, the attraction will be completed in parallel with the bicycle road along the Sió. The technical content of the project is a water tourism development, a new complex water tour route with built stops, landings, water sports equipment. Equipment will be purchased for the attraction: kayak, canoe, bicycle. Buildings are energy efficient, barrier-free and do not contain asbestos. The whole public will prevail, and several TDMs will be active in bringing the attraction to the market. The call is fully in line with the objectives set out in the call, the applicant for the grant and the subject matter are not subject to the exclusion grounds, the action is eligible independently. The 270-day opening hours can be guaranteed. It is expected that more tourists would arrive (grouped) and stay longer due to the “tempo” of water tourism. For the same reason, they stop and use local services every 10-15 km. It creates both direct and indirect jobs. The development has a real tourist attraction due to the favourable conditions, occasionally used by water hikers without exits and buildings. Accommodation along the route is available at different levels, but development is expected. The stations can be reached from several directions by train, bus and parallel development for bicycle networks. Professional background organisations are available with well-trained professionals (management, operator, TDM). It is also prepared for special target groups (accessibility, project element of Snail-Biga Foundation).Technical planning is advanced, budget is realistic. The local governments and the Hungarian State (Management KDtVizig) own the areas. The project has been negotiated more with the last one on the possibilities of the constructions. The project is carried out in a consortium and contains more attractiveness (Ozorai, Simontornyai Castle, Sióagárd cellar village, Gemenci forest, etc.) The development is connected to previous projects along the Danube: Danube Charging Confirmation — Eurovelo 6 bike path, complete reconstruction of the Sió lock. The project strengthens the Ozorai development run by Forster centre and recently implemented in the National Castle Program.A new unique element, also at the regional level, is being built in Medina. The time spent in Sión will be more than 2 hours. There are no similar projects in the region, even in a few places in the country — with other features. A significant part of the project’s realisation is the district of Tamási, where the settlements belong to the free business zone. In the lower part of Sió with the most favourable water flow, where exits and station buildings were missing so far, the settlements of Szekszárd district are supported by a large majority (Kölesd Medina, Harc, Sióagárd) as an entrepreneur, the Harci Diófa Csárda wishes to participate in the operation of catering. Several TDMs and regional TDMs are involved along Sió, the Association intends to operate the project from its own base, and the Foundation will operate its employing centre in Medina. Souvenirs will be local suppliers. This type of water attraction (near 100 km) is unique in the region, both in terms of the characteristics of the route (non-waving, low-drift, not deep) and the connection of the attractions (Ozorai, Simontornyai Castle, Gemenc) The attraction is complemented by the bicycle road along Sió. Not only will there be job creation in direct operation (buffet operation, maintenance, maintenance tasks), but also indirectly the entrepreneurial activity is expected to increase in the affected settlements (sales of local products, repairs, rentals, other services). The total length is expected to be used as athletes of the whole length, or even in a family phase, the accommodations of smaller settlements will also be increased, and the number of overnight stays will increase. At the five new stations, the operation of the buffet, tourism work and maintenance tasks result in at least 5 job creations according to the business plan. The horizontal goal of TMTK teljesíti:együttműködésre is based on environmental and sustainable, job creation, family-friendly, local resources, business friendly and innovative.
