The aid application relates to an indicative allocation for all beneficiaries within the counties in accordance with point 1.2(b) of the Area-specific Annex to the Call. This project is of paramount importance for the whole of Bács-Kiskun County, given that its overall aim is to boost active tourism, including cycling tourism. As part of the project, the existing cycling network elements will be connected, connecting the entire area of Akasztó, Kiskőrös and Soltvadkert to the EuroVelo 6 cycle road network along the Danube. With the construction of the missing cycling network function, it is possible to exploit and develop cultural, built and natural heritage elements of local and regional importance, which are attractive for tourism, in order to diversify the region’s economy, stimulate the local economy and increase employment. The aim of the project is also to support the development of a tourist product package at regional level in the region of Solt and Akasztó, with which coordinated development based on county-level tourist attraction elements can be realised. Within the framework of the project, a one-sided two-way cycle path between Solt and Akasztó was planned to connect the existing bicycle road network elements in a length of about 14 km. The cycle path runs on the left side of the main road 53 according to the sectionage, including current municipal and private areas. With the involvement of co-operating partners, Solton and Akasztón servicing facilities will be provided along the cycle path, and in Dunatetétlen village a suitable cycling rest area will be established by developing an existing rest area. The bicycle path is expected to be built with a surface width of 2.50 m, and the more precise technical parameters will be developed during the design phase of the licensee. Members of the applicant consortium and their involvement: Municipality of Solt (consortium leader): The role of the municipality is decisive for the whole project, and most of the preparation and implementation activities are concentrated with it. Based on its regional role, tourist conditions and previous projects, the city is suitable for the successful implementation of a tourism project of this magnitude. The Municipality of Dunatetététététság and Akasztó Municipality: The administrative area of the municipalities is affected by the development and their role is important both in the preparatory phase of the project (technical preparation), in terms of implementation (coordination of land acquisitions, implementation of works) and the maintenance of the project (maintenance and operation of bicycle sections, participation in tourism product packages). Bács-Kiskun County Tourism Development and Marketing Nonprofit Ltd.: The municipal-owned non-profit company performs most of the project management tasks and provides the appropriate tourism expertise for the development, marketing and mandatory publicity tasks.The planned project activities, in accordance with Chapter 3.1 of the call for proposals, are independently eligible activities: C) Developments related to active tourism, including: a) Development of cycling tourism: The development of existing cycling tourist routes that feed on international (EuroVelo 6) and national (Central Hungary) cycling-tourism networks and link tourist attractions. Optional activities that are not eligible on their own: Acquisition of equipment related to the creation of a tourist attraction; Implementation of cycling-friendly project elements. Activities that are not eligible independently and are to be carried out on a mandatory basis: Marketing activity: development of a tourism product package; Publicity. The conditions set out in point 3.2 of the call are fully met by the project, but these will be explained (due to lack of space) in the cycling maintenance plan. The cycling maintenance plan, which is an inseparable annex to this application form, shows in detail the fulfilment of the conditions set out in the section of the Call for Content Assessment criteria.
