Today, water utilities are facing two major challenges: 1. lack of specialists and (2) climate change, which, taken together, threaten the sustainability of the quality of drinking water supply services and the waste water treatment system. The objectives of the KJNV are clearly to improve the relationship between society and water (both at individual, economic and decision-making level) so that society and decision-makers can better understand the importance of preserving water resources. To this end, the Water Strategy recommends launching targeted awareness-raising programmes, general description and acceptance of water retention methods. The overall overall objective of the project is in line with the provisions of the Partnership Agreement of Hungary to support the EU 2020 strategy, as well as the objectives of the KJNV, adaptation to climate change, and the conscious, sustainable and economic use and protection of natural resources, including drinking water resources in particular; promoting resource efficiency and environmental protection. The long-term objective of the project • to change the attitude and attitude of the young generation towards natural resources, • to strengthen individual and social responsibility for drinking water supply • and to sensitise future water professionals in addition to the conscious use of water. The short-term objective of the project • to promote the profession of water utility, to raise awareness of the importance of training, and • pay special attention to the awareness and promotion of water saving and responsible use among the population, • through the possibilities offered by the tender, to make its users more aware of the developments and programmes related to the protection of water base, sanitation, treatment and treatment, aimed at improving the quality of drinking water, thereby helping them become environmentally conscious, economical and responsible water users. On the basis of the above, the direct objectives of the project are: The aim of the consortium is to hold lectures related to awareness-raising events, film projection, transmission of information publications, as well as to present the environmentally conscious processes and activities of water utility services in relation to the quality of drinking water in the service area, the possibilities of efficient drinking water use, as well as environmentally conscious waste water disposal and treatment. The Zrt. also plans to expand its awareness-raising tool park: with the help of 3D models, some water utilities and sewage treatment plants create showrooms and raise the quality of events with the help of mobile models. As part of the project, Bácsvíz Zrt. undertakes to reach 17 869 active persons and 122 700 people passively. It plans to start the project on 1 January 2020 and to complete it on 31 December 2021. The project can be implemented for 24 months. The total eligible cost of the project is HUF 82 215 184. The project’s planned activities are described in detail in the underlying study.
