Drinking water improvement programme of the village of Koppányszántó, Tolna county

The water plant to be developed is located in the inland part of Koppányszántó (hrs. 376/2). The water plant serves the drinking water supply of the entire village. The water base of water production is currently provided by 2 deep-drilling wells (1-1 in operation and backup). Given that only one of the existing wells can be operated stablely and the operation of the off-site well is expected to remain unstable despite insert filtering, it is necessary to establish 1 well of sufficient capacity in order to ensure the quantitative security of the service. The purpose of the planned waterworks development is to improve the quality of the water supplied (compliance with VAT), supplying the population of the settlement with healthy drinking water while creating economical operating conditions. We plan to build up modern water treatment technology to achieve all of this. Installation of a complex water treatment (iron, manganese and deammonium) equipment with a capacity of 45.0 m³/d on the water plant, new water treatment buildings and associated facilities (technical reserve well; courtyard pool; ferrous sludge sedimentator; a perimeter wiring network; a service road) is being built. The planned reconstruction does not exceed 20 % of the total eligible costs.
