The Municipality of Hódmezővásárhely aims to implement the following activities: Self-eligible activity to be carried out on a compulsory basis: 3.1.1.1 Developing a local climate strategy Optional, self-eligible activities: a) Organisation and implementation of interactive thematic awareness-raising programmes for institutions, settlements and several settlements, b) implementation of municipal awareness-raising actions, c) awareness-raising of local actors, including: organisation and implementation of information sessions/workshops/forums for the employees of the institutions involved in the project, d) professional preparation and conduct of regional and local study competitions, giving practical knowledge, which can be integrated into everyday activities 3.1.2.2 Optional, ineligible activities: a) Organisation and conduct of specialist circles suitable for the transfer of practical knowledge and knowledge, b) Organisation and conduct of media campaigns related to the municipal programme series and awareness-raising action, c) developing, disseminating, distributing publications aimed at disseminating knowledge, d) Organising and conducting field trips related to the main purpose of the call, supporting participation in them, e) Establishing a subpage for the project within the website of the project owner and continuously uploading it with content and organised events prepared during the project, updating, f) Organising and conducting creative and playful sessions for children promoting the importance of climate-consciousness at regional or local events, g) Establishing a demonstration site that promotes practical learning and builds on the activity of the target group. Project objective: The primary objective of this project, like the National Climate Change Strategy at the national level, and the County Climate Strategy, is to lay down the guidelines and goals that can be achieved in order to prevent the adverse effects of climate change in the long term. This can be achieved both by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and by increasing carbon sink capacities and by improving the environmental and climate awareness of those living there. The second objective of the project is to adapt to the other directions of Hódmezővásárhely that focus on environmental sustainability, resulting in a climate-conscious living environment for the inhabitants of the settlement. In addition, together with strategy-making, the development of a realistic vision, goals and measures, as well as the awareness-raising activities outlined in the project, a further aim is to strengthen the climate sensitivity of local actors (population, institutions, businesses), i.e. to increase the sensitivity of the population, decision-makers and the economic sector to the problem through well-functioning, innovative, local activities and initiatives. Call KEHOP 1.2.1 contains two important project elements (creation of climate strategy and awareness-raising) with the following objectives: The objective of the climate strategy is to: 1. Provide the right basis for the future development of the city, encouraging it to move to a climate-conscious development path. 2. A comprehensive and sector-specific, focused analysis document to identify the city’s climate-related problems and challenges. 3. Describe key environmental problems and challenges, climate-specific aspects of society, built environment and economy. 4. The local government, the proposals and needs of the relevant local actors are included in the document, and a strategy is established in cooperation. 5. On the basis of the analyses, a realistic, feasible vision and a target system should be developed, based on broad support. 6. The measures should be multifaceted, understandable and applicable to the local population. 7. The document provides all the information in a language that is understandable to everyone about the climate problems of Hódmezővásérhely and the related solutions and answers. Awareness-raising projects aim at: Targets at urban level: 1. Involving several groups of actors, in particular children, in order to increase climate-conscious behaviour. Active cooperation with local institutions, schools, programme organisation and organisation, events and lectures. Presentation of good practices, presentation of problems, challenges and solutions at local level. 2. Taking part in local events, increasing the activity and sensitisation of the people living here. By joining local events, we address the population with full-day presentations and programs, highlighting environmental and nature conservation NGOs, and specifically targeting children of kindergarten, primary and secondary school.
