Connecting lines H5 to H6/H7 — Preparing the development of the North-South urban-suburban high-speed railway

The aim of the development is to start the planning preparation for the modernisation and interconnection of the H5 Szentendre, H6 Ráckeve and H7 Csepel HÉVs in preparation for the development of the north-south urban-suburban railway axis, in the framework of 3 related planning contracts: • Modernisation, interconnection and extension of H7 Csepel and H6 Ráckeve HÉV lines to Kálvin Square • Modernisation of H5 Szentendre HÉV line • Detailed feasibility study to connect the development of the north-south urban-suburban high-speed railway under the Danube The overall objective of the projects is to provide public transport connections without transfer or with fewer connections, to design the infrastructure necessary for the transport of new HÉV vehicles, the creation of a higher service level of public transport, the possibility of increasing the speed of travel on the HÉV lines, ensuring equal opportunities, improving the quality of travel comfort and passenger information, organising the environment of the HÉV lines, establishing a direct inner city connection with metro lines. The two southern lines (H6, H7) serve the entire Csepel Island and Pesterzsébet, Soroksár region. The areas are not equipped with modern transport links or are only tangential. MÁV Zrt. has other track-based transport connections. No. 150 Budapest-Kunszentmiklós-Tass-Kelebia railway line and tram lines in district XX. One of the most important problems of the former is mainly due to the lack of a suitable transfer point in Budapest, as well as due to its unfavourable line management, or even if it does not attract potential passengers. An important objective of the project is to improve the quality of public transport, to provide reliable services in line with the needs, to preserve current travel shares, to increase the share of public transport as far as possible, to establish transfer and modal nodes in order to strengthen modern and efficient network interoperability (MÁV Zrt., BKK Zrt., VOLÁNBUSZ). During the planning of the H6 and H7 MÉVs, the task is to design the railway lines of the HÉV lines and the associated power supply, interlocking, train control and telecommunications planning. Planning of the related road network, planning of P+R, B+R car parks, related surface bus network, replacement of certain level road-rail crossings is to be planned. Design task spatial planning and architectural tasks related to stations and lines. The design of the necessary vehicle sites and utilities will also be carried out. During the project, the task is to obtain permit plans, licenses, topping booklets, execution of architectural design contests, regulatory design parts, construction tender documentation and construction plans. The northern (H5) HÉV line plays a significant role in the traffic of Óbuda-Békásmegyer and Szentendre, with the highest traffic of all HÉV lines. The technical condition of the line is mixed, the infrastructure of the Békásmegyer — Szentendre section has deteriorated significantly. A direct link between H5 HÉV and MÁV Main Line 2 may be provided, which may allow for a new cross-sectional arrangement which could lead to a significant increase in public transport. In the course of the project, the task is to obtain authorisation plans, permits, regulatory planning parts, tender documentation and construction plans. The planning task linking the northern (H5) and southern (H6, H7) lines shall be completed with a detailed feasibility study up to the design level. Possible variants of the track, number of stations, location and exits shall be examined. During the task, traffic modelling and scheduling concept are also a task. The usability of the space freed up and the planning task of revising the relevant public transport network should be examined. The railway track, related disciplines, works of art, feasibility study plan level.
