In Phase 1 of the GSM-R project, the Hungarian railway network will be developed over a length of 935 km with different radio coverage quality levels (R2: A radio network with dual coverage (full geographical redundancy) at signal level that meets the requirements of ETCS L2.; R1: An ETCS L2 radio network with signal level, single coverage, preparation for the subsequent introduction of the ETCS L2 signal, dual coverage.) The project will be developed in three phases over a total length of 935 km. The development releases approximately 315 km of 160 MHz analogue radio network, 240 km 450 MHz and 200 km 160/450 MHz dual-fuel analogue radio network. The releasing networks, communication devices, until further expansion of the GSM-R, constitute a replacement for the existing analogue (160/450 MHz) systems in the transition phase.
