SOMOGY’S WALKABLE CHARM 1. Design of Szántód-Kereki pedestrian route The planned development is the development of the hiking route necessary for pedestrian access to Kerek Castle. At present, it is possible to approach the castle by starting from the resting area of Czikó Kereki, through a marked tourist path running all the way around the castle hill from the east. During the development, log benches treated with wood-protection coatings are constructed and the existing ones are refurbished. On the high gradient 2 sections of the tourist route, column-to-hand rails are placed. At the end of the hiking route, in front of the castle entrance, a wood-structured, log-wooded rainport and log bench are placed in Barabas square stone pavement. The last 150 m of the hiking route requires brushing and scrubing at least 1 m in width and up to 2.5 m height. It is necessary to place a tourist sign on the hiking route and to refurbish the existing information board at the beginning of the road. The construction of the hiking route is a project element for the preservation of 10 existing hiking trails equipment (1 rain stop; 2 information tables; 2 sets of bench-tables: 2 bench, 1 table; 1 bench), 1 new table + 2 new pads without backrest. 2. With the planned development, beside the ruins of Kerek Castle, a one-storey terrace on the north side of the hill to show the panorama of Lake Balaton (terrace, rain cover roof, bench, table) and minimal preservation of the castle. Kerek Castle is subject to individual national monument protection, the status of the protection is a registered monument value (stree number: 4585) and archaeological sites. On the one hand, the movement of tourists visiting the castle is regulated in the area of the castle, preventing tourists climbing to the castle’s remains and damaging it, on the other hand, the development also serves the safety of the visitors. By cutting back the trees in front of the newly constructed terrace and by possible felling, you can also provide a view from the terrace to Lake Balaton. 3. Construction of a lookout and resting place in Somoshegy (Balatonberényi), along the main road of Balatonberény, on the edge of the Somos park forest, on the outskirts of the old lookout tower, the new wooden view and resting place, from which the view of Lake Balaton is revealed from Keszthely Bay to the Tihanyi Peninsula. The maximum occupant height of the lookout is 12.00 m from the orderly terrain level, which means 4 levels with a height of 3.00 m. The lookout tower allows the simultaneous stay of up to 10-12 people on the building. 4. Construction of a wooden lookout tower “Lóczy Lajos” The planned project element will be installed around Deseda, one of the favourite resting places of Kaposvár. The specific location is the Desedai Arboretum, which enjoys local protection, but of course it can be visited by the general public. Several walking paths and a wooden bridge across the Deseda stream make it easier for visitors to move. The lake is surrounded by hiking and cycling routes, and fishing is also possible. The new wooden, covered lookout and resting area, from which the Deseda Lake and Deseda Creek as well as the Gombás-Desedai Parkerdő and the Desedai Arboretum can be seen. The maximum occupant height of the lookout is 12.00 m from the orderly terrain level, which means 4 levels with a height of 3.00 m. The lookout tower allows the simultaneous stay of up to 10-12 people on the building. 5. Construction of a wooden bridge on Deseda stream The tourists and excursions visiting the Lake Deseda and its surroundings can only travel between the blocks of Kaposfüred and the village boundaries of Somogyaszaló by using the busy main road for 160 metres. This can be extremely dangerous, especially for families with children or school groups. In order to make traffic safer, a new pedestrian wooden bridge will be built next to the old transport bridge across the creek. The bridge structure is located on the north side of the intersection of main road No 67 on the north side of the Deseda lake, taking advantage of the two asphalt beaches located about 20 metres north of the road bridge structure, which contain traces of the old traffic route, narrowing down as from the east as the lake from the west. The planned bridge is 41.86 m long, with 3 supports, on the right and left shores reinforced concrete bridgehead, and on the centre of the bridge with a reinforced concrete pillar installed in water. Main racks are made of glued wood structure, the walking surface is a roughed saturated plank with 5 cm vtg, which is perfect for walking and cycling. On both sides of the bridge a hardwood railing is made. 6. Reconstruction of the Arboretum wooden pedestrian bridge (“the mosquito bridge”) The large audience of Desedai Arboretum can approach the peninsula on the pedestrian bridge built in 2002. In the last 15 years, the bridge pillars, the bridge elements and the side and parape...
