It performs the maintenance, development, utilisation and operation of the state-owned heritage in its asset management, the prominent monuments, monuments, monumental values and archaeological sites, equipment and collections within the framework of Heritage Management. Location of the project: 8330 Sümeg, Szent István Square 10. Geographical area: 1422/3, monument number: 5296. The basic goal of the development is to contribute to the strengthening of the Hungarian cultural tourism, to increase the knowledge of the visitors, to provide interactive exhibitions and visitors-friendly services rich in experiences. It is a fundamental endeavour to save monumental values and ensure sustainable operation through the tourist utilisation of the Bishop’s Palace in Sümeg. In addition, it is important to increase the number of visitors to the Palace, the guest traffic of the town of Sümeg, as well as the reduction of seasonality in tourist data thanks to the varied and partly indoor programmes and events. Consortium: As a consortium member, Forster Centre involves Budavári Real Estate Development and Operator Nonprofit Kft. as a partner in the implementation and maintenance of the project. The consortium leader is Forster Centre. In the implementation of the project, the tasks will be shared by the participants in the consortium as follows: The Forster Centre prepares and arranges plans, related background studies, performs project management during implementation, manages the progress of the project with the help of professional colleagues and participates in the implementation of the project’s professional tasks. Budavári Real Estate developer implements the public procurement, all investment and professional service tasks, using the reserve if necessary. At the same time, it will take over the operation tasks of the castle from the Forster Centre. The Forster Centre accounts for the project costs gross and the Budavári Real Estate developer on a net basis. The aid intensity of the project is 100 % and the aid requested is HUF 1.5 billion, of which HUF 7.5 million falls into the ‘de minimis’ category, i.e. de minimis. To the north of the rear gateway, we plan the reconstruction of the former mug cellar, where the museum pedagogical employer is also located. The restoration of the pieces of the chapel, which can be enjoyed in their present state, is also part of the program. The more prominent units of the floor spaces are the so-called “episcopal interiors” presented with restored wall paintings, parquet, panelling, and in some places with contemporary equipment, as well as the Padányi Library. In addition, space for permanent and temporary exhibitions and opportunities for interactive learning will be created. The organisation of the immediate surroundings of the building is also part of the program, including an inner courtyard with a uniform image, the area next to the palace, an open-air event venue. The part of the former ornamental garden belonging to the palace is also summoned, as well as the restoration of the walls and fence walls.
