Renovation and energy efficiency of educational infrastructure in Smolyan

Project proposal Renovation and energy efficiency of educational infrastructure in Smolyan includes renovation and renovation of four schools and one kindergarten. The interventions are aimed at the complete renovation of the “Vasil Levski” PMG, Smolyan with the construction of a gymnasium and the renovation of the yard space, the complete renovation of the yards of three of the largest schools in Smolyan — Dvorno space and sports grounds of VI Primary School “Ivan Vazov” and “Ivan Vazov”, Smolyan, which are in one building and courtroom and sports grounds at VII High School “Otets Paisii”, Smolyan. The main measures for energy efficiency have been introduced in these schools under a project funded under OP “RG” 2007-2014. The project also includes overhaul and reconstruction of KZ No 5 “Buratino” including measures for energy efficiency, accessible environment, structural reinforcement, internal repair works to ensure a healthy living environment and additional fire-fighting measures and development of the surrounding area. For all sites included in the proposal, measures are foreseen for accessible built environment as well as measures to ensure security and prevention of risks, including installation of video surveillance. It is also envisaged to provide the necessary furniture and equipment for modernising the learning process. The majority of the sites fall within the impact zones of the approved IHLG of the town of Smolyan, and the “V. Levski” PMG was included in the IHLG with an amendment in 2015, within a 20 % flexibility outside the zones in terms of functional links between the impact zones and the rest of the city and the municipality.
