Provision of modern social housing for the accommodation of vulnerable population groups on the territory of Mladost, Montana

Project “Providing modern social housing for the accommodation of vulnerable population groups on the territory of Mladost, Montana” provides for the provision of adequate social infrastructure through the ongoing renovation of existing municipal housing for the accommodation of vulnerable and disadvantaged groups of the population. The project plans to renovate 22 municipal dwellings located in the area of predominant social character according to the Montana Municipality’s ICPLD. By providing modern living conditions, in combination with adequately selected measures to strengthen social inclusion and integration, a supportive environment for positive social change and a prerequisite for improving the quality and standard of living for the representatives of the selected target groups will be created: homeless people and/or those living in very poor living conditions and parents with children, including minor parents, large families, children with ill health and disabilities. The results achieved will contribute to advancing targeted policy in the field of social inclusion of disadvantaged and vulnerable people, harmonising with modern standards for sustainable and balanced social development. The current project proposal will be implemented in accordance with the National Strategy of the Republic of Bulgaria for Roma Integration 2012-2020. The measures for providing social housing for marginalised groups, including Roma, will be combined with other types of interventions, including those in the fields of education, health, social inclusion and employment, which in itself leads to an integrated approach. Furthermore, the location of the dwellings, in itself, will ensure spatial integration of the representatives of the target groups as a whole and will not contribute to their segregation, isolation or exclusion.
