This project is focused on improving the urban environment in Montana Municipality through rehabilitation, reconstruction and improvement of urban areas with a certain basic functional purpose, included in the Integrated Plan for Urban Reconstruction and Development of Montana and include: Kaleto Park, Ogosta Park, Montanesium Park, City Park and Hadji Dimitar Blvd. By implementing measures in this target area, in line with the actions in the eligible activities under the Urban Environment Priority, the project will contribute to the construction of good urban infrastructure; adaptation of spaces for persons with disabilities; improvement of spaces and development of recreation areas and improvement of public spaces, thus creating conditions for a better lifestyle in a more attractive urban environment. The selected concentration of the measures will contribute to the overall rehabilitation and development of the city, as the parks are the main recreation areas in the city and are subject to use by the population of the whole city.The implementation of the project will build on measures related to the project “Providing a green and accessible environment in the town of Montana”, implemented under grant scheme BG 161RO001/1.4-09/2012 “Green and accessible urban environment”, Priority Axis 1: “Sustainable and integrated urban development” under Operational Programme “Regional Development” 2007-2013. The selected package of intervention sites will contribute most to the overall regeneration of the urban impact area and thus contribute sustainably to achieving synergies and concentration of resources. The effect of the investment is also reinforced by the fact that the present project proposal and the objectives set are part of the long-term and sustainable strategy of Montana Municipality to make efforts to revitalise the city and the whole municipality.
