The Municipality of Solt and the Municipality of Akasztó would like to submit an application for the EFOP-1.2.11-16 call for the “Solt and Akasztó home-creating and career planning program” in the form of a consortium. Call EFOP-1.2.11-16 aims to ensure conditions for young people to remain and move to rural areas in order to improve the population retention and competitiveness of the countryside. For years, Applicant municipalities have been trying to create a social and economic environment that contributes to the population retention power of the settlements. The implementation of this call for proposals can make a significant contribution to achieving the above objectives by analysing local circumstances and opportunities. Solt, as consortium leader and Akasztó as consortium partner, defined the following project objectives in the framework of the application: — improve the housing conditions of young people by providing independent housing; — implement (self-)employment programmes based on local opportunities; — it supports the stay of rural young people with specific tools (incentives) tailored to local specificities, conditions and needs. It will be possible to achieve the objectives of the proposal by implementing the following activities: — Refurbishment and refurbishment of properties owned by the Municipalities for independent housing, for young individuals and couples and families participating in the project. — Provision of local services to support young people’s career planning and job acquisition skills. — With the involvement of the target group, the organisation of activities that generate economic cooperation based on the development concept submitted in the application for support. — The development and provision of a knowledge transfer/local incentive system for the target group to enable them to enter the local economy; — The continuation of good practices to support young people’s stay, or the adaptation of (documented) good practices in other municipalities. At the stage of the preparation of the application, Solt and the local government sought to involve the direct and indirect target groups of the proposal as much as possible in order to enable the target groups to identify with the application activities and developments, enabling an optimal and efficient project implementation. The project objectives were known to the stakeholders (residents, non-profit — non-profit sector, tender partners, local economic operators) and all the actors supported the senior officials of the Municipality of Solt and the Municipality of Akasztó Municipality.
