The budget line provides for the financing of evaluations under OPTTI and OPT — environmental impact assessments and evaluations of the implementation and effects of the interventions. With regard to environmental assessments, reports on the monitoring and control of environmental impacts in the implementation of OP Transport 2007-2013 (OPT), Common Transport Master Plan (CGMP) and OP on Transport and Transport Infrastructure 2014-2020 (OPTTI) are foreseen, including measures to prevent, reduce or to the fullest extent possible remedy the alleged adverse effects of their implementation. In particular, the objective is to meet the requirements on monitoring and control of environmental impacts in the implementation of OPTs and DPEs and OPTTIs, as set out in EC Opinions No 2-1/2007, No EC No 10-6/2014 and No 1-1/2010 with which the programmes (OPT and OPTTI) and the plan are consistent; identifying, preventing, reducing or eliminating as completely as possible adverse effects in the implementation of the OPT, OPTTI and DPE on the environment, population and human health. Performance evaluations and the effects of interventions shall cover evaluations, with a focus on identifying and analysing programme performance and assessing their effectiveness and impact. Foresees evaluations to cover several topics, including an evaluation assessing the contribution of ESIF support to the achievement of the objectives of each priority. Individual evaluations aim to answer different questions and thus assess the need for corrective action to achieve the expected results and meet the programme objectives. In addition, the results of evaluations will feed into the preparation of the next programming period in order to ensure the most effective and efficient implementation of the policies pursued.
