The project aims at optimising prevention, preparedness and response to natural disaster risk (floods, landslides, including disasters caused by them) as well as adequate analyses and assessments of different types of risks. Research and identification of existing local information systems is envisaged. Based on the study carried out, a common information system (platform) will be built, integrating the existing local systems, compatible with NSEWV and with the possibility of subsequent integration with a European system for public disclosure. A proposal of the National Disaster Risk Management Plan is envisaged, based on a risk assessment, which will take into account the likely impacts of climate change and the existing strategy for adaptation to its changes. To this end, information on past disasters will be systematised and unified. On the other hand, a concept will be developed with recommendations for the development and implementation of a new inter-institutional approach to data collection, comparable and allowing for risk assessment. As a result of the project implementation and the planned activities for organising trainings and events as well as technical support for operational teams, the effectiveness of the competent authorities in the field of prevention, preparedness and response to natural disasters, based on an adequate risk assessment, will be increased. The time to exchange information in natural risk analyses and assessments, as well as response times, will be reduced. The decision-making process to respond to the risk of an imminent or already occurring natural disaster will be streamlined. The aim is to improve coordination between the executive authorities in risk management in order to limit/liquidate the consequences of natural disasters.
