During the implementation of the project, the construction of a new taxiway Z — a new taxiway, surface sewage networks, drainage, signal and axial lights is planned. The installation of a new taxiway Z at Vilnius International Airport will create the following benefits: 1. The safety of aircraft manoeuvrability is ensured: the introduction of a new taxiway Z will reduce the taxi time of aircraft from the northern apron to the start of the take-off/landing runway and vice versa. The current taxiway A taxiing aircraft are required to run an additional distance before the start of the runway and perform a turning manoeuvre after reaching the runway. The project will reduce the number of complex manoeuvres required for the aircraft; taxi time of landing/take-off aircraft will be reduced. 2. Reduction of air and noise pollution due to shorter taxi time for aircraft, reducing noise emissions from aircraft engines, while reducing aircraft fuel consumption and emissions into the environment. 3. Improved passenger experience for safer and shorter aircraft manoeuvring to take off or reach the terminal.
