The aim of the project is to improve flight safety and reduce negative environmental impact at Vilnius Airport. During the implementation of the project, it is planned to reconstruct the northern apron and install 8 aircraft parking areas near the runway in order to reduce the distance of aircraft movement to the parking place, the duration of aircraft manoeuvring, noise and air pollution at Vilnius International Airport. As a result of the project and the reconstruction and extension of the northern apron, the following benefits will be created: 1. Safety of manoeuvrability of aircraft — the reconstruction of the northern apron will provide additional parking places closer to the runway, thus reducing the number of manoeuvres required for the aircraft to reach the parking position on the platform from the take-off/landing runway; taxi time of landing/take-off aircraft will be reduced. 2. Reduction of air and noise pollution due to shorter aircraft taxi time to parking, reducing noise emissions from aircraft engines, while reducing aircraft fuel consumption and emissions into the environment. 3. Improved passenger experience due to shorter safer aircraft manoeuvring from landing to parking and take-off.
