Reconstruction of existing r.t. “A” and “B” to increase lifting capacity; new signal. lights installed, primer. vand. and dist. assembly system improvement

The proposed project provides for the reconstruction of existing taxiways A and B in order to reduce the length of aircraft manoeuvring and noise and air pollution at Vilnius International Airport. Following the implementation of the project, the demolition of taxiway A and the reconstruction of taxiway B, the following benefits will be created: 1. The safety of manoeuvrability of aircraft is ensured — the reconstruction of taxiway B will reduce the number of manoeuvres required for the aircraft to reach the parking position on the platform from the take-off/landing runway; taxi time of landing/take-off aircraft will be reduced and aircraft are currently operating on an aerodrome apron where the speed is lower than on the reconstructed taxiway. 2. The reduction in air and noise pollution due to shorter taxi time will reduce noise emissions from aircraft engines, while reducing aircraft fuel consumption and emissions into the environment. 3. Improved passenger experience for safer and shorter aircraft manoeuvring to take off or reach the terminal.
