Reconstruction of the section of the A14 Vilnius-Utena highway from 16.00 to 21.50 km

The Lithuanian Road Automotive Directorate under the Ministry of Transport and Communications meets the needs of road users and society as a matter of course, and implements the state policy on road development, maintenance and road safety of national significance. The project, which aims to develop and improve the TEN-T road network by strengthening and distributing road surfaces, implementing traffic safety and environmental protection measures, is located within the boundaries of Vilnius County, Vilnius district municipality, Riešė eldership. From an international point of view, the area affected by the project is Lithuania, Poland, Latvia. The Trans-European Transport Network road A14 Vilnius-Utena occupies an intermediate position between the TEN-T roads crossing the territory of Lithuania and national roads. This road provides connectivity to a very attractive and picturesque region of Eastern Lithuania and is intended to be included in the newly formed international South East Transport Corridor (Lazdija-Alytus-Vilnius-Utena), which is intended to: ensuring fast and direct communication between Warsaw and Vilnius and the three contiguous county centers — Vilnius, Alytus and Utena. The implementation of the planned reconstruction works will improve the conditions of communication, increase the attractiveness of the route to Lithuanian and foreign road users, but the greatest benefit will be provided to residents of Vilnius district. Road A14 provides the residents of Vilnius district with the country’s capital and Utena city and the entire region of Vilnius.
