The aim of the project “Deployment of Akmenė Free Economic Zone” is to promote economic development and employment of residents of Akmenė district by attracting foreign direct investment in areas of smart specialisation. In order to increase the fragility of the Akmenė FEZ in an area of 35.02 ha not yet leased to investors, it is appropriate to develop communication communications (establishment of railway branches; construction of local roads; parking lot installation; construction of a bicycle path) and the development of engineering networks (melioration ditch drainage; restoration of reclamation networks; installation of rainwater and drainage networks; fencing of the territory; installation of the area’s lighting network; installation of alarms). Without these facilities, the construction of investors in the territory of Akmenė FEZ is in principle impossible.
