The project will implement the requirements of Directive 2007/60/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the assessment and management of flood risks and relevant Lithuanian legislation in order to reduce flood risks and their consequences throughout the national territory. The implementation of the Floods Directive in Lithuania every six years must analyse the floods that have occurred, assess the potential impacts of climate change, analyse and identify the most dangerous areas, update flood hazard and risk maps showing the areas of flooded areas and indicate possible adverse effects on human health, the environment, cultural heritage and economic activities. The main activities of the project are aimed at updating the technical solutions and data of the flood hazard and risk map and the development of an updated Flood Risk Management Plan.
