The project, with a duration of 36 months, will be carried out with partners — 24 memory, cultural and educational institutions. The aim of the project is the development of a gateway to digital cultural heritage. The Lithuanian Digital Agenda notes that there is too little emphasis in Lithuania on the use of digitised cultural material. This is also the case for the digital cultural content stored by the Virtual Electronic Heritage Information System (VEPIS) and accessible through the eHeritages Portal. The main problem is: under-utilisation of the VEPIS and eSherit portal for the dissemination of digital cultural heritage. The problem and its determinants are divided into several blocks: • Problems in the VEPIS infrastructure hampering the consolidated provision of digitisation services; • lack of e-services based on digital cultural heritage content; • limited access to cultural heritage content; • limited possibilities for using digitised content for educational purposes, etc. Taking into account the needs of target groups, e-heritage users and memory institutions, the activities planned during the implementation of the project: • modernise VEPIS; • create 9 new e-services; • prepare new digital content; • actualise digital content by creating 3 educational electronic means.
