During the preparation of the project “Renovation and development of drinking water supply and wastewater management systems in the municipality of Lazdijai district”, the main problem was the lack of availability of water supply and wastewater management services in the municipality of Lazdijai district. According to data provided by Lazdijai district Seirijai district, the town of Seirijai had 810 inhabitants at the beginning of 2016 and there were 15 legal entities. JSC “Lazdijai vandens” provides only wastewater removal services in Seirijai, operates available drinking water wells. Effluent is transported from residents with individual drinking water wells using castor well water. It is planned to supply water in Seirijai town from water improvers located in Aušros str. The quality of the water supplied ensures the requirements of NH24:2003 hygiene standards and is therefore suitable for centralised water supply. The company administering the water is UAB “Lazdijai water”. During the implementation of the project, it is planned to build new water supply and wastewater networks, reconstruct old drinking water supply networks and build wastewater treatment plants. The estimated duration of the project is 52 months.
