The project “Reconstruction and Development of Surface Wastewater Networks in Kaunas” aims to solve the insufficiently efficient and developed surface wastewater management system in Kaunas city. To achieve this objective, the project’s main activities are: • reconstruction of surface sewage networks Kapsų str. length about 0.29 km, length of about 4.84 km in Žaliakalnis district; • installation of surface sewage system in the Aleksotas microarea about 19.30 km; • New construction of 6 surface wastewater treatment plants in the Aleksoto district and construction of 1 surface wastewater treatment plant in the district of Žaliakalnis. Planned output indicators for monitoring: P.S.328 “Rain drainage area from which the infrastructure has been installed and/or reconstructed to handle surface (rain) water collection” — 549.34 ha. The estimated eligible costs of the project are EUR 10.004.531.86, of which EUR 7.939.274.93 from the European Union Structural Funds and EUR 2.065.256.93 from the applicant. The estimated duration of the project is 36 months.
