Since 1980, the urban water treatment plants in Jonava have been worn out and operate inefficiently and uneconomically. Water studies have shown that there is an increase in total iron concentrations in the raw groundwater of the Jonava water site. During the implementation of the project, it is planned to reconstruct and equip 8 000 m³/day water improvement equipment, which will serve and provide clean water for 13.9 thousand dwellings/29190 inhabitants (in the city of Jonava and Ragožiai village), which use centralised water supply services. The aim of the project is to improve and ensure the quality of drinking water supplied to consumers. Project value — EUR 2.65 million. The project is expected to be implemented in 2014-2015.
