The objective of the project is to increase the availability (universality) of centralised water supply and wastewater management services, to seek to ensure quality drinking water supply and wastewater management for the population, to implement the requirements of the EU Waste Water Directive 91/271/EEC for wastewater treatment, to reduce soil and groundwater pollution and the risk of pollution of groundwater resources in the project area, by extending the number of people receiving water management services and improving the quality of water management services provided in the project area. The project provides for the parallel construction of 4.6 km of waste water and 4.32 km of water supply networks in Šilalė district, allowing the connection to the public water supply for 104 dwellings (280 inhabitants), 110 dwellings (297 inhabitants), reconstruction of 0.1675 km of water supply networks and 1.229 km of sewage networks.
