Remediation of public buildings in the former military town of Tauragė city and adaptation of public buildings to the needs of the community

The aim of the project is to improve the living environment and investment attractiveness of the city by increasing the well-being of vulnerable groups and young people, adapting the buildings of the former military town to community needs and creating a youth space. The planned activities are the conversion of two abandoned buildings (Vytauto str. 139 and 141,) and the remediation of their environment in the territory of the former military town abandoned in Tauragė. The aim of the project is to create conditions for increasing the employment of the population (urban communities will have the opportunity to organise various events promoting entrepreneurship, sharing information and various business organisation experiences, etc.), by remediating the abandoned buildings owned by the municipality in the abandoned area of the former military town and adapting their environment to the needs of the community. The implementation of the project will contribute to the long-term goals set by Tauragė district municipality — to create a favourable environment for attracting investments and business development in order to create new jobs; ensure public security by reducing crime; ensure the development and implementation of youth policy.
