The main objective of the Youth Career (Nuora) project is to contribute to the implementation of the Youth Guarantee in north-eastern country. The aim is to develop new flexible solutions and operating models for youth employment services that take into account the individual needs of young people. Another key objective is to find solutions to the labour needs of companies in the region. The objective is to develop multidisciplinary cooperation between municipalities, regional educational institutions, private and third sectors in the provision and development of services and promoting employment.1) Objectives related to the employment of young people- full employment of young people under 29 years old unemployed in north-eastern country of origin- Possibility for a smooth transition to work- Training supporting employment flexibly alongside work- Opportunity to find employment and to train at home- Guidance on other services and training 2) Objectives related to the needs of enterprises‘labour force- The possibility of obtaining a local, regionally committed labour force- Support for the development of workers’ skills through training aimed at young people promoting employment- The reduction of the employment threshold in the EU as key measures is to plan a personal path for employment for each person. Key measures are also to help companies find suitable workforce and lower their thresholds for employment. The measures are divided into the following työpaketteihin:Työpaketti 1: Measures for the employment of young peopleWork Package 2: Measures for the supply of labour to enterprisesWork Package 3: In the EU, the project’s general support for young people’s employability and the availability of labour for businesses will be met by the Youth Guarantee, unemployed young people under the age of 29 will be employed for at least three months and will build up their skills. Young people’s service guidance and employment services will become more efficient, networked and diversified, and this will lead to new operating models to facilitate the transition of young people into working life. The project explores ways to anchor effective operating models as part of youth employment services in Koillismaa. Business cooperation will be more effective and companies can also be better provided with services and assistance related to employment and skills needs. North-Eastern companies gain committed labour. The improvement in the employment situation of young people and the cooperation of well-functioning enterprises and employment services will increase and improve the attractiveness and vitality of the region. As the majority of unemployed young people under the age of 29 in North-Eastern countries are male, the project will pay particular attention and design measures accordingly. The feedback collected on the project’s activities and at the end of the project will be collected in a gender-disaggregated manner, so that the views of the different genders on the project’s activities can also be taken into account when designing follow-up measures. The project promotes social equality, as employment and the improvement of employment conditions contribute to the inclusion and integration of young people into society and working life. Employment creates well-being for the individual and improves the conditions for well-being. The project’s measures will prevent young people experiencing short-term unemployment from falling into longer unemployment and potential social exclusion as a result of prolonged unemployment.
