The objectives and measures of the project are directly linked to the development of technology metal recycling and electrification, as outlined in the report on “The Possibility of Growth — Satakunta’s objectives and measures for recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and new growth”. The project creates a systematic approach for Satakunta to promote recycling experiments and business of technology metals and strengthens the expertise in metallurgy in the region by launching a joint centre of expertise based on the strengths of Prizztech and Satakunta University of Applied Sciences, which will be part of the RoboAI Research and Development Centre. The project is carried out by the experts of the RoboAI Research and Development Laboratory of the Satakunta University of Applied Sciences and Prizztech. The project measures consist of pilots and experiments with companies and the development of RoboAI’s RDI activities. Experiments and pilots focus on improving the recycling and automation of precious metals contained in electrical machines, battery applications, magnetic applications, electric vehicles and their components. The target companies in the trials include Metal line retailers, metal recyclers, equipment manufacturers, component manufacturers and automation companies.
