Forests for a sustainable future

The aim and measures of the project are to create a common industry vision for the forest and timber industry, with sustainability and responsibility as the main theme, in accordance with the development programme for the timber industry in Koillismaa. In addition, the aim is to showcase the value chain of the forest and wood industry in the region and to explore its development and internationalisation potential. The project will also create a meaningful and credible carbon computation model and calculate the carbon balance of the wood sector in north-eastern Finland. The aim is also to increase the attractiveness of work and study places in the forest and wood industry in Koillismaa. As a result, cooperation between companies will increase and the RDI cooperation networks of the industry will develop. The business environment for companies is developing and competitiveness will be strengthened and labour and skills challenges will be reduced.
