The SHR (Syndicat du Haut Rhône) and its member municipalities wish to develop and sustain awareness of flood risk among the residents of the Rhône by identifying by very visual means (plates on buildings and totems in a natural environment) the water levels reached during the main floods of 1944 and 1990. This operation is part of the Rhône Plan and also a regulation imposed on mayors to identify flood markers in the municipal territory. In addition, these benchmarks, as well as the old ones made during a previous operation, will be compiled on a GIS basis (geographical and altimeter position) and the corresponding census records will be completed.
