The aim of the departments of Drôme and Ardèche is to finalise the layout of the ViaRhôna in their territories. The passage between Roche-de-Glun, in the Drôme, and Glun, in Ardèche, requires to take the dam on the Rhône granted to the Compagnie Nationale du Rhône (CNR), which supports the Route Départementale (RD) 220A with very large motorised traffic, of about 7,000 veh/day. This crossing, the only missing link in the layout of the Rhône crossings between the Drôme and the Ardèche, is now a black spot in the overall route of the VVV ViaRhôna. The roadway on the dam is particularly narrow (4.5 metres), to the point that two cars cross only at idle, and it is not suitable to ensure the safe traffic of the users of ViaRhôna. The project, under the supervision of the Department of Drôme, involves the construction of a corblematic footbridge at the head of the dam and the development of 2 km of bike roads on the banks of the Rhône, on the Drôme side. The total cost of the operation is estimated at EUR 1103 000 excluding tax.
