Rehousing of the “LAGROSILLIERE” school in Sainte-Marie for its seismic comfort

The building complex consisting of the Collège LAGROSILLIERE and the multi-purpose high school Nord Atlantic is a school city hosting 337 students for the college & 439 students for the high school. The design of this school city is unfavourable to seismic risk. Indeed, buildings are highly vulnerable to the earthquake Several diagnoses have been carried out and the diagnosis has confirmed that the buildings are obsolete, degraded by proximity to the ocean and vulnerable to seismic hazards. There has therefore been an urgent need to intervene on this asset in order to improve its security. Pending the final reconstructions, the beneficiary decided to relocate the college and the high school to modular facilities on the site of the Anse Charpentier, in Sainte-Marie, owned by the CTM, in order to quickly put the occupants of the two school units into safety.
