The Société Aéroportuaire Guadeloupe Pôle Caraïbes has been managing the airport under a public service concession since 19 December 2014. Its obligations include the development, renewal and maintenance of infrastructure. Regular monitoring and the various explorations carried out by SAPGC led to the completion of a road maintenance program. In the context of this operation, the work envisaged is therefore essential to cope with the growth of air traffic. The taxiway known as “Alpha” has a regulatory non-compliance as it is less than 168.50 m from the centreline of the runway. In order to maintain the operation of the general aviation parking area, the operation consists of creating the Quebec taxiway that strictly meets the regulatory requirements and decommissioning the existing Alpha taxiway as a road lane.
