Who estimates that 13 million people worldwide will succumb to infections in 2050. An increase in the emergence of infectious agents and the risk of an epidemic or pandemic has been observed over the past 15 years, 60 % of which originated from the animal. This situation requires the development of innovative means of detection and therapeutic tools that can benefit from the discoveries of basic research. The requirement to reduce infectious risk to human health will also require rigorous control of animal infections that are often the cause of contamination. By 2050, the need to feed 9 billion new people is posed by infectious diseases internationally.
