As part of its integrated urban development project (PDUI), Moulins Communauté aims to conduct a global bank development project with the aim of making the Allier River a lever for development around a strong urban centre. Thus, the project to reconquer the banks aims to connect the heart of the agglomeration with its landscape, architectural and environmental heritage, strengthening the natural character of the places, enhancing the relations “City” and river (habitat, tourist activities, walking and cycling,...) and improving the general aesthetics of the banks. The opportunity recently offered by the SNCF’s closure of the iron bridge allows us to consider creating a strong point of the recovery of the Allier River, with the creation of a bridge dedicated to soft modes, offering an exceptional point of view on this natural heritage.
