The project aims to spatially reconfigure the Lichtenfels square in a more functional way in harmony and in continuity with the achievements of improving the living environment already implemented in the Lac district. To ensure the best integration of the project, this corresponds to the exact perimeter of the old square. The project is centred around the structuring axis of Avenue des Domes supporting the C bus line at high level of service (to the north), the Citizen’s house and its parvis (south) with the border to the west of the facade of the collective housing building and to the east the deadlock of the Domes and its pavilions. The aim is to give a new urban dynamic instead in order to improve the commercial attractiveness of the sector. Particular attention to environmental quality is an integral part of the project, with a greater share of the planting of the square. The project also aims to promote soft local connections between neighbourhoods by ensuring pedestrian continuity to create a true urban route of the green wave (north/south and east/west) while ensuring a connection to the cycle paths of Avenue des Dômes (west/east) and Avenue de la Libération (north/south).
