Strengthening the capacity of the Medical Centre of the COVID-19 Special Telecommunications Service for managing the COVID-19 health crisis

The general objective of the project is to strengthen the capacity of the Medical Center within the Special Telecommunications Service for managing the COVID-19 health crisis, by operationalising a PCR laboratory. Medical equipment, medical and medical protection devices, specialised transport equipment, equipment for decontamination and sorting support, personnel protection materials and related sanitary supplies and supplies (reactive), which will be directly used to identify COVID-19 infection of STS personnel, are concerned, in order to ensure timely and adequate treatment, as well as the purchase of protective materials (protection masks, visors, bactericidal lamps, gels and disinfectant solutions, dispensing) that will be used directly to prevent infection of personnel. The capacity of the Medical Center to detect the infection of staff with the SARS-CoV-2 virus is practically non-existent due to the lack of specific medical equipment needed to detect COVID-19 infection, although there is a medical analysis laboratory at the Medical Center in the institution. The project leads to the fulfilment of the LIOP result indicator 2S132 — Appropriate care and treatment of cases of infection with SARS-CoV-2/health crisis management, is qualitative: Before the LIOP intervention: NO; After the LIOP intervention: Yes
