pedestrian itinerary in Amorebieta (Karmen-Katia)

The project includes the construction of a shared bike path from the municipality of Amorebieta (Karmen Kalea) to the Katia district, as well as the installation of lighting throughout the route, which aims to promote sustainable urban mobility between both locations and try to reduce the emissions of greenhouse gases produced by other means of motorized transport. In summary, it is to move towards a more sustainable and low carbon economy._x000D_ _x000D_ The main objective of this project is the deployment of infrastructures and services for cycling and pedestrian transport with a strong aspiration to connect urban-rural areas. It includes the development of roads that improve pedestrian and cyclist mobility in comfort and safety conditions, constituting in itself a friendlier alternative from the environmental point of view to the traditional use of private vehicles. This strategy of sustainable energy (Ecotransporte) aims to achieve the following effects: decrease energy consumption, reduce dependence on oil and allow less motorized mobility, promoting travel on foot and transport by bicycle.
