E-SURVEILLANCE — ICT APPLICATION IN TRAFFIC MONITORING AND MANAGEMENT

The operation consists of the implementation of a video subsystem and sensors in the urban nucleus of Marbella to control the security of the different areas of the city where there is a large influx and coexistence of national and foreign visitors and vehicles, motivated by activities of different nature: night and day leisure, commercial, cultural activity, etc ..._x000D_ _x000D_ On the one hand, the video surveillance system will serve to identify the vehicles and individuals involved in incidents, criminal acts and deviations, and on the other, it aims to be a powerful deterrent method, through an extensive network of posters that inform about video surveillance in the acting zone._x000D_ _x000D_ With this network it will be possible to control traffic and know the state of traffic in real time from a traffic command and control center, which will facilitate immediate action and even assign the necessary resources from the control center._x000D_ _x000D_ Controlling the flow of traffic will make it possible to have objective information to help reorganize traffic, both in a timely manner during situations of collapse, emergency or due to specific events, as well as in the efficiency of regulation in the long term. The application of these systems based on new technologies appears as a multimodal objective of the SUMP of the municipality of Marbella: "to take advantage of existing technological advances to improve the mobility system and traffic control"_x000D_ _x000D_ The aim of this operation is to help minimize the number of incidents, traffic jams and crimes against collective security, improving the sensation of citizen and road safety, notably optimizing the physical presence of police officers, resources these are considered scarce, making the area a sustainable area as the perception of safety of pedestrians is not reduced and thus avoid its abandonment and subsequent deterioration.
