Replacing the public lighting installations, in order to increase their energy efficiency, as specified:_x000D_ 1. Street lighting luminaries have become obsolete, because they were installed many years ago and have not been replaced ever since. This type of lighting is regulated by Royal Decree 1890/2008, of 14 November, which approves the regulation of energy efficiency in outdoor lighting._x000D_ About 6,400 out of approximately 30,000 street light points in Elche use discharge lamps, which are no longer manufactured._x000D_ We propose to replace about 2,000 obsolete luminaries with new LED technology lamps, which incorporate a dimming system, achieving in this way a significant energy saving and consequently lowered greenhouse gas emissions, besides a more accurate Color Rendering Index and a substantial reduction of night glare and intrusive or annoying lights._x000D_ 2. Since many of the poles used in this type of lighting are worn, it is necessary to replace some of them at the same time that the new LED luminaires are installed._x000D_ 3. We propose to replace the nearly 1,400 twilight switches currently used as drive systems of the outdoor lighting installations with astronomical time switches. Future deviations between the time when the lighting installations are operating and the time when they are actually needed will be removed through this measure, saving energy and lowering greenhouse gas emissions.
