Medical sciences are crucial to the health of the population. The spectrum of their breadth covers a number of medical disciplines and their specialisations. As part of this project, we will focus on research into the three most serious groups of diseases, namely diseases of the central and peripheral systems (including neurodegenerative diseases), cardiovascular and cancer diseases. In these areas, the requirements for a “personalised approach” in both diagnostics and therapy are being stepped up, based on the creation of a complex molecular profile and the use of “omics” methods – proteomics, metabolomics and genomics. The identification of proteomic, metabolomic and genomic changes that would be useful in the diagnosis, prediction and targeted treatment of these types of diseases is important for the development of the area. Some translational potential is also the study of molecular mechanisms for the emergence of specific/specific diseases, although in terms of benefits for the health of the population in terms of the identification of new pharmacological objectives. The project follows the main trend – Innovative diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and products of personalised/precision medicine. The project will carry out independent research and development in the field of monitoring the emergence and progress of neurodegenerative diseases, diseases of the autonomic nervous system, neuroregulation-related diseases, cardiovascular diseases and selected cancers (neuroendocrine tumours, colorectal cancer (CRC), prostate cancer, selected gynecological tumors, lung tumors, etc.) Within this product line, the implementation of research and development will be carried out within the following specific tém:Diagnostika diseases in the organism “PRED” by therapeutic intervention using proteomic, metabolomic and genomic disease markersIndividual diagnosis of the disease from a tissue sample and concurrently from blood/plasma or other biologic material of the patientTargeted treatment – use of new personalised options, new pathways – e.g. stem cells, immunotherapy, minimally invasive surgery with one-stay treatmentMonitoring of therapeutic response/continuation of disease (relapse, remissia) or development of resistance to selected treatmentDevelopment of standard diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
