Bikes without borders – studies and plans, Microregion Dunajská Magistral, object: 404-05 Path Lehnice Colony – Stage I

The main objective of the municipality is to develop safe and clean transport in the territory in order to promote sustainable regional and local mobility. We plan to achieve this goal by building a new cycling road outside the road on the section connecting Lehnice to Lehnice Colony with a length of 0.272 km. Local communication No III/063016 currently leads only a significant burden on the area. There is a missing footpath for walking and cycling, as a result of which all road users use the road: drivers, pedestrians and cyclists. Connecting Lehnice to Lehnice Colony by cycling is a priority not only for safety reasons (high probability of accidents), but also for ensuring the availability of public public transport stops, namely the railway stop in Lehnice Colony, the provision of public amenities (Elementary School, MŠ, post office, health resort, bus stop, etc.), as well as to improve the availability of employment opportunities directly in the village and in adjacent settlement centres. Increasing the share of non-motorised transport in the overall division of transport work is a priority for the municipality, as the village lies on the Bratislava – Dunajská Streda link. High-loaded Class II road 572 intersects the village practically throughout its length, causing noise, vibration and air pollution. The project is fully in line with the IROP intervention strategy, priority axis 1, with specific objective 1.2.2 – Increasing the attractiveness and transport capacity of non-motorised transport to the total number of passengers transported through its activities, outputs and results. Its implementation will contribute to increasing the share of cycling in the overall division of transport work and to reducing overall air pollution by supporting the growth of non-motorised transport. It will also contribute to the inclusion of cycling as a fully-fledged mode of transport as part of mobility, to the creation of an easily accessible and cost-effective form of transport and to improving road safety. The project is fully in line with the “Uniform Concept for Cycling Routes in TTSK” and with Rius TTSK. It contributes significantly to the area coverage of the TTSK area through the network of cycling routes of tourist and transport character and to the creation of a system that allows the combination of public transport with a system of cycling routes.
