DPB, Renewal of the car fleet of trams in Bratislava – option for 15 pcs of one-way trams

Brief description of the project The project is a continuation of the solution to the situation of public transport in Bratislava, with the main users of the project being residents and visitors of the city of Bratislava. Bratislava is an area with daily high migration of the population that does not have permanent residence in Bratislava for work. It is estimated that up to 200 000 people reach the city per day and thus around 650 000 people are present on a normal working day and most of them use public transport services as well as interurban integrated transport. The project follows directly with its focus, or is a continuation of the project “DPB, renewal of the tram fleet in Bratislava”, implemented in the framework of the OPD until the end of 2015. Through the project, DPB carried out the procurement of 45 new low-floor trams in the division of 30 two-way vehicles and 15 unidirectional vehicles. During the implementation of the project, by exercising the option in the contract with the tram supplier (two-way) the project was changed. The original number of 30 trams was thus increased by 15 additional two-way vehicles. The project under preparation is based on the exercise of another option, by Addendum No 1 of 16 October 2014 to the Contract for the Supply of one-way trams No ŠT/03/011/13/SML of 30 July 2013.
