Expressway R2 Bátka – Figa, project documentation

One important objective of the Slovak Republic is to connect the transport network to the international European route E58 in the direction of West-East, thus improving conditions for international and national transport and increasing continuity, speed and road safety. The R2 expressway in the Bátka-Figa section was defined in the government approved “Strategic Transport Development Plan of the Slovak Republic until 2030 – Phase II” – in December 2016. The construction of the R2 expressway in the section Bátka – Figa category R 11,5/100 with the proposed length of 6183 m will contribute to increasing the capacity of the road road in the direction of the west-east, ensuring a higher transport function and creating a coherent network of motorways and expressways with a trans-regional transport function. The activities of the project are focused on the project preparation of the expressway with the aim of removing key bottlenecks on the TEN-T road infrastructure through the preparation (construction) of new sections of expressways. The location of the project implementation is Banskobystrický kraj, Rimavská Sobota district. The R2 expressway is part of the TEN-T Comprehensive network, with an important national and international transport function.
