The subject of the project is the construction of a public water supply in the village of Dolná Ždana in the district of Žiar nad Hronom. Residents are currently supplied with hygienically unsatisfactory drinking water from local wells, water quality does not meet the requirements of STN 75 7211. There is no suitable source of drinking water for public water supply in the village. The lack of public water is one of the weaknesses and limitations in the development of the village, while the lack of sufficient and high-quality drinking water for the population is one of the main environmental problems that have been unresolved for several years. The aim of the project is to ensure a smooth supply of drinking water for the inhabitants of the village through the construction of a public water supply, which will be connected to the common existing water supply in Horná Ždani. Water from VN Turček through the drinking water supply pipe “Žiar nad Hronom – Žarnovica – Hronský Beňadik” is fed into it. The aim of the project will be achieved through the implementation of one main activity of the project: “Construction of public water supply”, and clearly measurable through 2 indicators: Number of km of built water network – value 5,741 km and Increased population with improved drinking water supply value 750. Implementation of the project will also contribute to improving the quality of life in the village, improving the living conditions of the inhabitants with a positive impact on their social situation. This will also contribute to the future further territorial and economic development of the municipality.
