The present project is complementary to the H2020 widespread-1-2014-Teaming – Building-up Centre of Excellence for advanced materials application CEMEA, No. 664337, which received the Seal of excellence and the recommendation for national funding. The aim of the project is to establish the Centre for the Use of Advanced Materials of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in SAS, a centre of top independent research focusing on the modification of surfaces and interfaces for new functionalities of structures and elements in the field of advanced (nano)materials, sustainable energy and biomedicine. Research on new low-dimensional (LD) nanomaterials, new composites and layer structures with improved or new application-interest properties. The research theme covers 6 areas of research – sub-activities of the project. The project supports, in addition to the applicant SAV, 7 research institutions (elu SAV, FU SAV, UPo SAV, UMMS SAV, UACH SAV, BMC SAV and CEMEA SAV). 48 publications, EUR 40 000 support for registration of intellectual property rights, EUR 22 million support for the reconstruction and modernisation of VI equipment, EUR 390 thousand complementary funding H2020, 30 new researchers positions and 10 supported participations of foreign experts, 3 patent applications filed.
