Currently, Act No 112/2018 on the social economy and social enterprises and amending certain acts is in force, which lays down a uniform and well-established definition and legislative anchoring of the concept of social economy (SE), which has no history in the legislative environment of Slovakia. The main objective of the project is therefore the creation and piloting of the functioning of the support infrastructure for the SE throughout the territory of the Slovak Republic, through the Central Coordination Unit of the SE (CKJ SE) and the SE Regional Centres (RC SE). As headquarters for SE in Slovakia, CKJ SE will cover individual RC SEs in each county city. Their role will be to provide free information to the public on social entrepreneurship, explain the operating rules of social enterprises and promote public interest in their creation and functioning. An important part of the project is a media campaign focused on the awareness of SE and the social dimension in business. For the correct application of the law, it is necessary to develop a uniform methodology and to prepare expert staff to provide the necessary assistance and support to potential interested parties in setting up social enterprises and to identify SE entities in the regions. Based on the experience gained by the CCC SE, it will prepare recommendations for improving the effective legislative framework for SE and Social Entrepreneurship in Slovakia. Through its intervention, the project will significantly contribute to the creation of social enterprises at national and local level, promote the development of regional employment and the labour market, increase opportunities for those interested in social entrepreneurship to create and provide goods and services to socially vulnerable people. The orientation of social enterprises to the labour integration of disadvantaged people in the labour market is very important, as integration in the open labour market is very difficult for them. The project is implemented throughout Slovakia, but according to the OP HR expenditure is only eligible for the less developed regions of the Slovak Republic at 88.84 %, according to the pro rata ratio in the OP HR.
