Increasing the innovation performance of the Slovak economy

The main objective of the national project is to increase the innovation performance of the Slovak economy through the implementation of targeted activities in all regions of the Slovak Republic. The project will set up regional Consultative Centres (CCs) aimed at providing advisory services for target groups, in particular for businesses where specialised innovation and technology advice will be provided. The advice will be addressed to all types of enterprises, with increased attention being paid to the SME category, but also to cluster organisations and other target groups. KCs will be the backbone of the basic activities carried out in accordance with RIS3[1]. Due to the low innovation awareness, the project will also carry out public awareness-raising activities in order to strengthen creativity and innovative spirit and create a pro-innovation climate in society, in particular by organising various types of competitions aimed at promoting innovative solutions, involving the business community and through media campaigns, creation and publication of professional/information materials, organisation of specialised information-educational events and programmes for pupils and students, dissemination of information at professional events (Coneco, ELOSYS, etc.), etc. The subject of the project will also be activities focused on forecasting, surveys, analyses and evaluation of innovation performance, within which the innovation environment in Slovakia will be systematically monitored and various types of studies and analyses will be carried out. On the basis of experience so far, benchmarking of cluster organisations with an international dimension will be carried out. The project will mainly monitor the following measurable indicators: Number of enterprises receiving non-financial support, Number of evaluations, analyses and studies carried out under the project and Number of information activities carried out.___[1] RIS3 – knowledge on prosperity – Research and innovation strategy for smart specialisation of the Slovak Republic RIS3), which was approved by the Government of the Slovak Republic 13. 11. 2013 by Resolution No 665/2013
